Central Market's Pad Thai

I love finding great deals on fabulous foods. I have to say this is a pretty good version of pad thai for its price. On a budget? This would be a great bang for its buck. The rice noodles with shrimp, squid, and tofu, in a sweet and spicy sauce, topped with crunchy peanuts is delicious. :)

Grilled Chicken and Mango Quesadillas

Today the Farmer's Market at City Hall opened up again as the summer ends and the weather cools down. It definitely feels good outside. As I passed this booth, I couldn't help but take a step back and ask questions. Zierau Fine Foods. Curiosity definitely hit me as I saw food on the grill. The options were grilled fish tacos or grilled chicken quesadillas. I would usually choose seafood over chicken anytime, but it was only a few days ago that I had some great tilapia tacos at a mexican restuarant in kerrville. That made my choice much simpler, try something different and chicken quesadillas were the answer :). The fact that mangoes were added in made me want it even more!

I think it was delicious. The chicken was seasoned well and the tomatoes, bell pepper and onions, including the mango made it a very flavorful with a hint of sweetness. I definitely enjoyed this. I wonder what else this catering service has in store for their customers.

Coco Cafe: Cafe Latte Coconut Water - Espresso

Have you ever opened up a Frappuccino Starbucks bottle and sipped it as the sweet coffee flavor taste hydrates in your mouth? Well this product is very similar to that, except the sweet coffee flavor taste suddenly changes to a coconut flavor. Ending it with a mixture of espresso and coconut taste in your mouth. It's a rather interesting combination. I got this from the convenient store in the downtown tunnel for over 3 bucks. It's not bad, but I wouldn't say I'd grab it again. If its something refreshing like coconut you are looking for, I'd stick with coconut water or coconut juice. And if you're in the mood for a cold sweet coffee drink, stick to the Starbucks or any brand that specializes in coffee drinks. But if you are in an adventurous mood as I was and want to try both at the same time, you can always give this a shot ;).

Amy's Cheese Tamale Verde

I'm not really sure what I expected when I ate this. I enjoy tamales overall and the texture that the corn masa gives to it. It seems to keep the flavor in. With this dish the organic corn masa was very light in flavor and texture. Most of the flavor came from the verde sauce. They say there is a hint of lime in the corn masa, but it was hard to taste since it was hidden beneath a much stronger flavor of the sauce. The filling of Monterrey Jack Cheese, chilis, and jalapenos was also excellent with a bit of the corn masa and sauce. As for the rice, it had a sweet tomato sauce which went well with the main course.

So overall, the corn masa itself has a light taste, but infused with the verde sauce it was delicious and filling. Hope you guys try it out :).

Amy's Black Bean Enchilda

It's been a year since I last posted, but my love for food has not strayed me in the wrong direction :). My coworker tells me I have a food problem. I always critique my food, I always want to try something new and different, and I always like to eat! Well I mean everybody's gotta eat right? lol. Anyways, today I've tried Amy's Black Bean and Vegetable Enchilada's.This dish was great! Lots of flavor in every bite with a hint of spice from the Mexican sauce. It's organic frozen meal at its best and they knew exactly how to do it. Thank you Amy's Kitchen  for sharing this great dish with the world :) Definitely worth the $.
